Whenever there is a heatwave expected there’s always a rush to find the perfect place for the kids to cool off. From thrilling water parks to delightful open air splash pads, and more high octane adventure parks, there’s something for everyone in our region. The best thing is that some of these are in public parks so completly free to visit. Here’s our guide to the best water parks and splash pads in the Midlands, complete with postcodes and everything you need to know for a perfect family outing.
As always please plan ahead, check opening times and venue websites for any extra details, do not travel before checking as some of these places are seasonal and weather dependant and others sell out and become fully booked. Lastly – do not forget your sunscreen!
Tettenhall Pool

Tettenhall Pool is a popular outdoor swimming pool perfect for families during the summer holidays. The pool is surrounded by beautiful greenery and has a paddling pool for little kids. With plenty of parking and a children’s play area nearby, it’s an excellent spot for a full day of fun in the sun. The adjacent skate park and outdoor gym make it suitable for older children and adults too.
Twycross Zoo Wet ‘n’ Wild Play Park
Location: Burton Road, Atherstone, CV9 3PX
Twycross Zoo’s Wet ‘n’ Wild Play Park is a fantastic water splash pad filled with tipping buckets, fountains, and sprayers. One of the best splash pads in the Midlands – It’s perfect for cooling off during hot days while visiting the zoo. The zoo itself is a great place for children of all ages to learn about animals. Be sure to check their social media for updates on ride tickets and opening times during bank holidays and term time. If you have been recently then don’t forget your ticket entitled you to 12 months access to the zoo – so check your old emails for your receipt / proof of purchase!
Riverside Stratford-upon-Avon Pool

Mary Stevens Park Splash Pad

The Wave

The Wave is a state-of-the-art indoor waterpark in Coventry, offering an array of high-octane slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. It’s a fantastic place for families to enjoy water activities in any weather. The waterpark also has areas for little kids, making it suitable for children of all ages. Probably our favourite in the region.
Splash Landings Waterpark
Location: Alton Towers Resort, Alton, Staffordshire (ST10 4DB)
Splash Landings Waterpark at Alton Towers Resort is one of the UK’s largest indoor waterparks. It features a variety of slides, lazy rivers, and a wave pool, making it a perfect destination for family fun all year round. The Caribbean-themed waterpark also offers areas for younger children and plenty of attractions to keep older children entertained. Probably one of the most expensive but memorable places on the list. We love outdoor pool slide area best!
Twinlakes Park Susanoo Splash Play
