A children's adventure journal, red rubber boots, and an orange backpack with art supplies rest on a stone wall, with white flowers and greenery in the background.

If you’ve been following our adventures for a while, you’ll know how much I love documenting days out, mini missions, and little magical moments with Arlo. That’s exactly why I created the Amazing Adventures of Me Journal, a playful, practical, and inspiring space for kids (and grown-ups too!) to record the fun things they do, … Read more

Kids for a quid! This isn’t an ad - yesterday Arl Kids for a quid!

This isn’t an ad - yesterday Arlo and I had a lovely day @dudley.zoo who have an amazing offer on kids tickets for 100p in honour of @davidattenborough ‘s Centenary.

We love the zoo and it was fabulous yesterday to see the carpark full up and so many families enjoying the sunshine.

Feeling inspired by the documentaries, Arlo spent the whole day taking photos and capturing video footage with his own unique commentary. Can you guess which animal he said I look like in this carousel!?

One thing I love about this zoo is how accessible all the views of the animals are without compromising on their enclosure spaces.

Arlo’s also discovered that when reviewing photos on my phone he can look up their species which he is fascinated with - such a great way to include technology and screen time in an educational context.

If you’re at a loose end today the offer is still available - online only so you need to book ahead!
What an Experience /ad Last night we went to the What an Experience /ad

Last night we went to the preview event for @gladiators.experience and WOW this is one for the bucket list this year.

We all had a brilliant time, pushed ourselves to our physical limits, met some amazing people and all managed to complete the eliminator (with some help from official contestants @mylesharrisdj and @nathanblanddd)!

“Do you have the speed, the strength
The heart to be a winner?”

A whole NEC hall is filled with activities from the iconic TV show and as you can see from the footage there’s two versions of them all, with a family and adults only options.

I’ve put up a blog post with a full review and have loads of photos to share but for now I just wanted to share this edit of the eliminator because I’m so proud of all of us…. I’ll always be the biggest cheerleader for my family!

The experience is open NOW and you can book online!

DDC x BCLM /ad This evening we went to @bclivingm DDC x BCLM /ad

This evening we went to @bclivingmuseum for the launch of @digbethdiningclub 2026 season.

If you don’t know (then you must have been living under a rock) Digbeth Dining club is responsible for transforming the midlands food scene - Creating events and venues which give small businesses and food traders a platform to bring delicious food to the Midlands masses…. & The Black country Living Museum is famous for being the real location of Charlie’s Yard (Peaky Blinders) and a fab midlands attraction in its own right.

This evening Arlo and I were invited to the launch so our tickets and some food vouchers were provided however we bought along the wildings and ended up buying loads more food (because we wanted to try as much as possible) and then also getting some ride tokens too.

The vibes this evening were great, with sunshine bringing warmth, live musicians playing rock and roll and the smell of food rolling around - it felt like the start of summer has arrived, DDC promises this energy and never fails to deliver!!

I loved running around the museum with the kids this evening, it feels like events like this give you a unique opportunity to explore places and see things in different lights. There’s some great dates already in the diary and I think we may well end up @warwickcastleofficial soon!

Food highlights for us were @beefontheblock (spectacular as always) @charliesfriedchicken (waffle fries were on point) and @fireawaygrill - they had a mammoth queue and it’s not surprising, I demolished their chicken wrap (totally worth the wait). Lincoln was speechless when it came to his @stripclub_streetfood burger!

I’m going to be hitting up DDC events and venues all summer because I get FOMO when it comes to all the different food options and I absolutely must remember to save some room for dessert options and pop in to @herbertsyard (our local permanent DDC venue) for more tasty food ASAP.
The MJ movie Seems like this is a controversial The MJ movie

Seems like this is a controversial one and I’m not sure why. As these biopics go it’s pretty decent. It goes from the Jackson 5 starting up until the Bad tour and includes so much of the music and references to performances and videos which I think I felt like some of the other similar movies missed and left me feeling a bit short changed.

You can’t possibly squeeze a life full of so many memorable moments in to a couple of hours so I can see why some people feel like there’s things missing (very odd that some siblings aren’t featured for example ) but for me it captured the essence. There was nothing there which was new, or that I didn’t already know. Maybe I thought it would be a bit more gritty, but actually it leaned more on to the gentle humour he supposedly had.

It’s nostalgic, tragic and captivating all at the same time same time. I reckon new/younger fans will enjoy it and seeing some of the performances on the big screen for me as a life long fan is the closest I’ll ever get to a concert experience. (If they ever did screenings of full live gigs remastered on the big screens I think they’d sell out).

If you’re not a fan of the music then of course it’s not going to be for you.

Very interested to see how they approach the second half of this story, I think that will provoke more conversations.

My highlight of today was pulling up to traffic lights with my windows down and volume up, and having a guy in the car next to me give me a thumbs up.

Visit Witley Court with us Not an ad - we visited Visit Witley Court with us

Not an ad - we visited this beautiful @englishheritage site today and had a lovely time.

It’s about 20 mins from Junction 5 on the M5 and one of those places to add to your days out bucket list, especially if you’re an EH member already.

The grounds are spectacular, rolling lawns and flowerbeds maintained beautifully with views across the countryside acting as a backdrop to the ruins of a magnificent building destroyed by fire almost 90 years ago.
The Fab Four Today we had a lovely day out (I’ll The Fab Four

Today we had a lovely day out (I’ll tell you more about that later) and for one quiet moment the Fab Four sat together and from a distance I captured their photograph.

These days it’s rare to get all four of them together, they’ve each got their own unique personalities, hobbies and interests as they’re getting older so finding something to do which suits all of them is proving to be more challenging.

I stood there and said to my mom and sister I’ve got so many pictures of all of them together just having the best time. Days out, birthdays, adventures and mostly when ice cream gives us a moment of calm.

From the first time the wildlings met Arlo and sat squished together with me on the sofa it’s been chaotic and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

They say 75% of the time you spend with your children will be before they’re twelve. That’s a thought that gives me all the feels!
Easter memories 🐰 I don’t post anywhere as near Easter memories 🐰

I don’t post anywhere as near as much content as I used to, mainly because the kids aren’t little anymore…. But I’m seriously unapologetic about making memories with the kids and showing up with all the chaos for them at every single opportunity I have ever had.

Arlo picked his own egg out in Asda this year and he’s more excited about cooking a roast dinner so I’m not doing an egg hunt this year and I wish I could turn back the clock and go back to this day to live it all over again.

Every year I like to go through my photo memories to 2019 where I hosted an egg hunt complete with messy play, tuff trays, chocolate decorating, costumes, personalised outfits and all the rest…. & I don’t regret a second of it.

I didn’t tell any of the adults what I was planning either and ran around hiding the clues as they were doing each activity, smothered in chocolate and paint.
Happy Easter 🐣 I had a fab time on @hobbycrafttv Happy Easter 🐣

I had a fab time on @hobbycrafttv showcasing the @cricut_uk Maker 4.

Managed to squeeze in so much in to 90 minutes including some cute ideas for last minute Easter makes and as many different tools and materials as possible.

If you did spot the dozen eggs I hid on the set then well done to you….. 6&7 had to stay together (IYKYK) 🤦🏻‍♀️

The last few dates of the @hobbycrafthq ambassador tour are coming up next weekend across the UK and I’m going to be in store @webbsgc Wychbold on Thursday if you want to pop in and say hi and chat about all things Cricut related.

The events are free to attend but if you register on eventbrite then I may be able to prepare a little take home treat 💖
