The Amazing Adventures of Me

Last Updated on Sunday, May 4, 2025 by Lavania Oluban

If you’ve been following our adventures for a while, you’ll know how much I love documenting days out, mini missions, and little magical moments with Arlo. That’s exactly why I created the Amazing Adventures of Me Journal, a playful, practical, and inspiring space for kids (and grown-ups too!) to record the fun things they do, see, and discover.

And now… I’m giving THREE of them away!

If you’ve got questions about the journal or want to grab a copy straight away, you can visit Amazon where it is available for £5 and if you’ve got prime then shopping is free or send me a message.

What’s Inside the Journal?

This isn’t just any notebook. The Adventure Journal is packed with:

  • Space for over 50 unique adventures – with prompts to help kids write, draw, stick things in, or just reflect
  • Plenty of inspiration for days out and space to write a bucket list to help kids get involved in the lead-up to your adventures.
  • Creative and simple prompts throughout for inspiring reflection after your days out.
  • Doodle zones – because journaling should be FUN, not a chore, space to draw, add photographs or stick in any collected items.
  • A packing list at the back for grownups to make sure you don’t forget any adventure essentials.

Whether it’s a zoo trip, a festival, a walk in the woods, or a day out with nan, every little moment deserves a place to be remembered. You’ll be surprised at what your kids want to include and which memories will be treasured.

Why Journaling is So Powerful for Children

This journal isn’t just about making memories, it’s a stealthy little tool for development too. I’m constantly looking at ways to engage Arlo and I’m delighted that I can now share this with you all.

1. It builds confidence.

When kids write about their own experiences, they start to see their voice as important. They become storytellers of their own lives which is huge for self-esteem.

2. It supports literacy.

Journaling is a brilliant way to sneak in writing practice without it feeling like schoolwork. Prompts encourage sentence building, descriptive language, and sequencing.

3. It encourages mindfulness.

Reflecting on a day out, what they loved, what made them laugh, what surprised them helps children slow down and savour the moment.

4. It sparks creativity.

From drawing doodles to sticking in receipts or leaves, this journal opens the door for imaginative expression beyond just words.

5. It’s a keepsake they’ll treasure.

There’s something magical about looking back at old thoughts and drawings. These journals become time capsules of childhood.

As a teacher and a parent, I’ve seen the difference journaling can make. It’s not about perfect spelling or handwriting it’s about giving kids a safe, fun space to express themselves and remember the magic in the everyday.
