1. Pick your Own Pumpkins Bednall

A family owned PYO pumpkin patch in Staffordshire who share the whole growing process over on their social media channels

Just a few miles outside of Derby Mr Pumpkin is a fourth generation arable farm.

3. Lower Drayton Farm

This is a whole day out at one of our favourite family farms in the midlands. If you’re looking for a busy experience with lots of activities then this is the place, with soft play, animals and so much more to really make the most of your day. Ideal for little ones

4. Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Cafe

Just outside Stratford upon Avon, there’s so many colours with a large variety of pumpkins on offer here.

5: Becketts Farm

One of our favourite places to visit with the farm shop, Shirley aquatics and golf driving range all in the same space, conveniently located just off the M42 this is one of the closest pumpkin patches and their seasonal events are always fabulous and often include pumpkin carving activities – not a pumpkin patch to pick your own as such but still a huge variety on offer.

6. Canalside Farm

Another activity based day out rather than a muddy field experience where there are lots of Halloween activities to enjoy and family fun to be had.

7. Woods Barn

This is our favourite place to find a Christmas tree so it’s exciting that they also go all out for Halloween too. open this year from 14th October with picking and carving available on a first come first served basis. You can choose your pumpkin from the field or from a selection in the barn. Prices start from just £2 per pumpkin.

8. Lichfield Maize Maze

There’s a huge Maize Maze here which is a great place to play hide and seek with the added bonus of muddy puddles – certainly wear wellies for this one.

9. Hatton country World

Another fabulous full day out is to be had at Hatton, with farm animals, indoor soft play, the shopping village and more seasonal fun. You can carve a pumpkin in a marquee here at the weekends from mid October then right through the half term. They haven’t released the full programme yet but it’s bound to be jam packed.

10. Essington Farm Pumpkin Patch.

This is one of our favourite places to visit. Essington has huge expansive muddy fields and makes plenty of wheelbarrows available, as well as pumpkins there’s usually a selection of seasonal crops. 11. Farndon Fields Farm Shop

Just outside Leicester this has been a pumpkin festival with limited tickets in the past which makes for a less hectic experience in the muddy fields.

Lots of choice and a variety of price points here – and much less mud as they do the picking for you. We love visiting all year round for the freshest of seasonal produce and it doesn’t get better than this.

16. National Forest Adventure Farm

The spooktacular is poised to be a fabulous day out for little ones, as part of the event a giant pumpkin donated by growers at North Stapenhill Allotments, will be on show. The ginormous pumpkin stretches a whopping 70 cm in diameter, more than double the average pumpkin size of 25 to 30 cmand weighs in at a staggering 112lbs – enough pumpkin to make over 100 Pumpkin Pies this Halloween season.

Tom Robinson who owns the National Forest Adventure Farm with his brother Ivor and has just returned from a trip to America to get inspiration for their Halloween pumpkin patch activities is now hoping others will share their giant growing stories.

17. Cattows Farm

The Halloween farm in Coalville is the biggest event we have been to with an immersive trick or treat experience inside a big top, a maize maze where you might find some spooky(ish) characters, fun fair rides and loads more to do including a random owl handling experience. We can’t wait for 2023’s announcements.

18. Pumpkins R Us

This family farm in Warwickshire claims to have every possible shape and size of pumpkin and this year at the new venue inside Stoneleigh Park which has three times the space I do not doubt it for a second. This is a ticketed event and pumpkins start at £1
